Math Rock are a rock group from Portland, ME. The band's permanent lineup includes 3 multi-instrumentalists who collaborate in regards to vocals and songwriting. The band is known for filtering other genres through their largely experimental and improvisational lens. Their first EP, "rise and run," was marked by clear synthpunk influences, while their recent double-single demonstrated the same gung-ho attitude towards folkgaze. When asked about their songwriting process, the band replied, "We write choruses, not tragedies."
